By way of follow-up, I mailed Jeff Garzik a day or two after I received this mail, and have yet to receive anything in reply. I'm taking that to mean that official support for my drive simply doesn't exist yet, and I shouldn't waste his time asking about it. :) I'm not sure how you want to triage something like this, but whatever you decide is fine with me.
