Ok, I was able to get access to the computer and get a bit more info about it:
- apparently the user was able to print off invoices last week and this morning without difficulty - the stack overflow occurs when printing any invoice - I tried loading an old backup of the gnucash database and printing invoices still crashed, so it's probably not a problem with a corrupted save file (due to, eg, shutting the X server down with gnucash running).
