Package: kernel-image-2.6.11-1-686-smp Version: 2.6.11-5 On a new P4 640 *) both -smp kernels 2.6.8 (2.6.8-16) and 2.6.11 (2.6.11-5) freeze the console when regular ps-2 keyboard and mouse are attached. With usb/wireless keyboard/mouse (**) and/or single cpu kernels this behaviour does not occur. The box is still reachable over the network and a kill and restart of the getty and gdm resolves the problem as does the removal of the ps2 and connection of the usb/ wireles keyboard/mouse.
Also attached are dmesg's with ps2 keyboard/mouse (which freezes the console) and with the usb/wireless keyboard/mouse (which doesn't). This problem is always reproducable. Box is available for debugging purposes. Sincerely, Jan.
