Package: kernel-image-2.6.8-1-686-smp Version: 2.6.8-10 Followup-For: Bug #294691
I was still testing when I received the message from [EMAIL PROTECTED] After going through several iterations, I realized that if both DVD burners were installed on the same IDE cable (which is how I got to testing with Knoppix), the problem goes away. If only one is installed, then I can sometimes overcome the issue by ejecting the tray a few times to get a good read. I've replaced the IDE cable to no avail. I have no other system at my disposal to take down and install the DVD Burners to see if they are an issue, but I think they're ok. Looks like the motherboard is acting up on me. Thank you for your time, but it looks like I might have some flaky hardware. I'm sorry to have wasted your effort. --Shawn -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.8-1-686-smp Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages kernel-image-2.6.8-1-686-smp depends on: ii coreutils [fileutils] 5.2.1-2 The GNU core utilities ii initrd-tools 0.1.77 tools to create initrd image for p ii module-init-tools 3.2-pre1-2 tools for managing Linux kernel mo -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
