Both kernels were stock Debian packages from the testing distribution - kernel-image-2.4.27-1-386 and kernel-image-2.6.8-1-k7. kernel-image-2.4.27-1-386 includes the a100u2w module in the package, so simply running mkinitrd (and adding a100u2w to the appropriate configs) yeilded a working initrd. kernel-image-2.6.8-1-k7 does NOT include the a100u2w module in the package, but after compiling the module from the relavant Debian source tree and copying it into the kernel/drivers/scsi directory, mkinitrd produced a working initrd for it, too. -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] Ne cede malis sed contra audentior ito
