Package: kernel-image-2.6.8-1-sparc64 Version: 2.6.8-5 Severity: normal
Under 2.4(.27) kernel package from sarge (sparc64), sound works ok. I installed udev and 2.6 kernel, and the module loads ok, but using a command such as 'play something.wav' fails since the /dev/dsp device does not exist. I assume that udev (via the kernel) should have created this device.
I do not know if this comes down as a cs4231 driver bug (ie. not
registering with udev, like ppp devices currently don't afaik), a udev bug or a problem with some other subsystem.
