Yes, because the kernel provides backwards compatability for syscalls. The problem is that the kernel doesn't provide headers for user space applications, so linux-kernel-headers is provided to give the absolute minimum needed for userspace applications to use. We (the glibc folks) will probably update it after Sarge releases, though. Tks, Jeff Bailey
