Package: kernel
Severity: wishlist

Without support for SMP for 586 or lower machines, my only option is to
compile the kernel myself, or use only one of my CPUs. It would be
better if there were a 586-SMP kernel included with debian
out-of-the-box.

This is my first time using "reportbug" so please excuse any errors on
my part.

the nr of non 686 SMP x86 machines is quite low,
so the debian kernel team won't provide one.
i'm sorry for that.

even the actual nr. of provided images was reduced
lately to help security team and buildd.
(modern processor types are recognised on runtime).
