Package: kernel-image-2.6.8-1-686 Version: 2.6.8-3 Severity: important Running Sid on an IBM T22 laptop. Kernels up to 2.6.8-1-686 version 2.6.8-2 work fine with apm suspend except that I had to set up pcmcia to remove yenta-socket before suspending. That is not new.
Now 2.6.8-3 fails to suspend with exactly the same configuration that works with 2.6.8-2. This is new. What happens is that the laptop seems to suspend but won't resume. It is not in fact completely suspended because plugging or unplugging the power causes a "beep", which is not normally the case when suspended. ACPI has never worked properly on this machine. I'm booting with append="acpi=off apm=on" in lilo.conf. I'm using "apm -s" to start the suspend. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.8-1-686 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C Versions of packages kernel-image-2.6.8-1-686 depends on: ii coreutils [fileutils] 5.2.1-2 The GNU core utilities ii fileutils 5.2.1-2 The GNU file management utilities ii initrd-tools 0.1.74 tools to create initrd image for p ii module-init-tools 3.1-pre5-7 tools for managing Linux kernel mo -- no debconf information
