Package: kernel-image-2.4.27-1-k7 Version: 2.4.27-1 Followup-For: Bug #269086
I second this. I tried both kernel-image-2.4.27-1-k7 and a custom build (from kernel-source-2.4.27 2.4.27-4) and both err on this; maybe it's related (sorry Herbert if I'm wrong) to Herbert Xu's "Fix /proc/ide/hpt366 crash" in 2.4.27? I have no idea yet. With initrd's busybox I am able to "insmod.modutils" hpt366, which proceeds as if all is okay; lsmod shows the module as loaded, but nothing is detected. I don't seem to have a problem with the VIA controller though; it seems to be hpt366-specific. 2.6.26 works perfectly. Please tell me if I can give any more info on this. I'm running on an ABIT motherboard with an onboard HPT370 RAID controller, not using RAID though. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.4.26-mppe Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C Versions of packages kernel-image-2.4.27-1-k7 depends on: ii coreutils [fileutils] 5.2.1-2 The GNU core utilities ii fileutils 5.2.1-2 The GNU file management utilities ii initrd-tools 0.1.74 tools to create initrd image for p ii modutils 2.4.26-1 Linux module utilities -- no debconf information
