BTW, what about adding VESA-FB-Support to the kernel and drop this insane modularisation patch that Herbert invented to work around the decission of the technical commitee? The arguments are still the same: the vesafb support would cost few kibibytes of the kernel image size and make lots of things more useable, eg. having the right resolution in the Debian Installer from the beginning.
