Package: kernel-image-2.6.8-1-sparc64 Version: 2.6.8-2 Severity: important Tags: patch
Hi,
I just tried debian stock kernel after a while. And yup, I got an old situation with nic freezing.
(form /var/log/syslog)
Oct 7 07:28:15 localhost kernel: NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0: transmit timed out
Oct 7 07:28:15 localhost kernel: eth0: transmit timed out, resetting
Oct 7 07:28:15 localhost kernel: eth0: Happy Status 03030000 TX[000003ff:00000301]
Oct 7 07:28:18 localhost kernel: eth0: Link is up using internal transceiver at 100Mb/s, Full Duplex.
I am running custom built kernel from debian 2.6.4 source tree (do not remember exact subversions) +
1-U1-hme-lockup.diff patch applied. Every thing seems ok, just the kernel itself is old a litle...
As in old days, I found the patch in
... pool/main/k/kernel-image-sparc-2.4/kernel-image-sparc-2.4_34.woody.1.tar.gz
... ... kernel-image-sparc-2.4-35/patches-obsolete/1-U1-hme-lockup.diff
I guess all other kernel images with out this patch including 2.4.x series has the same problem (strange,
the one is not included upstreem).
