Package: kernel-image-2.4.27-i386 Followup-For: Bug #287939
Hi, I saw reports for Palm trouble with kernel-image-2.4.27-2-k7. I have a K6 so I installed kernel-image-2.4.27-2-k6. I got the same problem. So it is probably good that this bug is mentioned in the bug list for kernel-image-2.4.27-i386, which I guess is where it would need to be fixed. If I should file a bug specifically against kernel-image-2.4.27-2-k6 please say so. My Palm IIIc is connected with /dev/pilot, which is a symlink to /dev/ttyS0. With kernel 2.4.24 all is fine. I used the debian source to build that kernel and tweaked the config. With the stock Debian kernel image 2.4.27-k6 syncing doesn't work. When I try to connect to it using JPilot or pilot-xfer or some of the other programs in pilot-link the whole computer freezes. This is before I even touch the sync button on the cradle. The keyboard doesn't function anymore, not even the led for NumLock can be changed. Mouse doesn't work. When some music is playing that sound is stopped as well. It only reacts to a hard reset. Other than that, 2.4.27 seems to run just fine. I had to put 8139too into /etc/modules in order to get some network traffic flowing, but that was the only hiccup. I've booted into 2.4.24 now, hence the kernel version mentioned below. If reportbug wants to supply this info, who am I to argue with it. :) -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i586) Kernel: Linux 2.4.24 Locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] (charmap=ISO-8859-15) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
