Hi! It has been asked about what files belong to KDE PIM and Akonadi often enough. And they are scattered around in different locations. Also I have not really been aware of this fine tool. So let me introduce you to the:
PIM data exporter. It can basically make an export of your PIM data. I am not going to test whether a restore will actually really restore exactly to the state I had before… and honestly given the complexity I somewhat doubt it. It may be a reason it is not called backup and restore but import and export. But it should store your valuable data. Also if you want to know a bit what config files and so on are involved… you can try an export and see in its log and in the resulting archive file on what files it stores. I did so without local mail cause… local mail folder equals 28 GiB according to du -sh on my system. Might come in handy in case I mess up a configuration or so. BTW I am still quite happy with SQLite3 backend. It is not perfect either, but a huge lot better than any of the other two. Best, -- Martin - please no carbon copy to me
