If you are using an Android smartphone with Google Play Services which send your location and more every 15 minutes to Google, the GeoClue2 service will probably be quite harmless. But I still just selected a spot on the map. I see no need to have a system service running for that. If you like to use geoclue I bet "geoclue-2.0" would be the package to install.
