"D-Bus session bus is not available!" indicate, that D-Bus is not running, this can't be because the communication between Kmail and Akonadi using D-Bus. This normally means you are running "akonadictl restart" as root or from a termial (Alt+Ctrl+F1) and not within your X-user session. But you need to run it as login user. hefee
