BTW Akonadi 15.08 contains the binary protocol which helps to improve performance. Akonadi 15.12 will contain performance improvements that shift the bottleneck towards KMail building message lists on displaying huge folders. KMail from git master already also contains some major performance improvements in that area. Running Akonadi and KDEPIM from git master makes a huge difference for me. How it is for Akonadi/KDEPIM 15.08 I will see once I update the workstation at work to it. Also note: In case you want to try Akonadi / Git Master see the Debian wiki page I created which contains hints how to set up paths and links to upstream build instructions. But beware! You currently can´t go back. Akonadi from Git master uses a leveled hierarchy for file_db_data directory. -- Martin
