Can't connect to msn server with kopete

Hi,

In the last week I've been trying to connect to MSN with kopete, but I keep 
getting the error:
"Cannot connect with the instant messaging server or peers"

Is anyone else seeing this and is there a fix for it?

Is kde-telepathy a proper replacement? 
I noticed that the kde-telepathy(-minimal) is at version 0.4.0-1, while most 
other kde-telepathy packages are at version 0.6.3-1. 
Why is that?
