So what I did to get kdepim 4.9.5: - upgraded to Debian Wheezy - added unstable and experimental-snapshots in synaptic - selected experimemtal-snapshots as default distribution in synaptic - installed kde 4.9.5 (the unstable repository is necessary for some libs) AND - added the quantal ubuntu archiv for kdepim 4.9.5 deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/ppa/ubuntu/ quantal main - refreshed the package lists - selected quantal as default distribution in synaptic - and installed kdepim. This pulled in all applications from kmail BE AWARE, that migration of your old mail accounts, contacts and calendars DOES NOT WORK out of the box. I had to delete a disconnected imap - Acount and configure it again from scratch. The same held for exchange carddav Contacts. There also appeared a lot of supplementary arkonadi - resource, which I deleted by hand.
