Hi! I am forwarding this from debian-kde mailinglist, I know that Debian uses an unsupported mix of KDEPIM 4.4.11 with KDE SC 4.8.4. Thus I have been reluctant to ask here.
But maybe after I found out that sending SIGTERM to a process /usr/bin/nepomukservicestub nepomukqueryservice makes KMail continue sending the mail I thought I ask here whether this rings a bell and there might be some bugfix / workaround available. It happens that when pasting a mail address from the address book – auto completion does not work here anymore for some reason I did not yet found out – or sometimes also at other occasions like sending a mail to two receivers lets KMail composer window hang right after clicking the send button. Would be nice to find a nice isolated fix for this before Wheezy is released. Nepomuk and virtuoso packages are at: martin@merkaba:~> apt-show-versions | egrep "(nepomuk|libstream|strigi|virtuoso)" kdegraphics-strigi-analyzer/sid uptodate 4:4.8.4-1 kdepim-strigi-plugins/sid uptodate 4:4.4.11.1+l10n-3 kdesdk-strigi-plugins/sid uptodate 4:4.8.4-2 libnepomuk4/sid uptodate 4:4.8.4-3 libnepomukquery4a/sid uptodate 4:4.8.4-3 libnepomukutils4/sid uptodate 4:4.8.4-3 libsmokenepomuk3/sid uptodate 4:4.8.4-1 libstreamanalyzer0/sid uptodate 0.7.7-3 libstreams0/sid uptodate 0.7.7-3 virtuoso-minimal/sid uptodate 6.1.4+dfsg1-1 virtuoso-opensource-6.1-bin/sid uptodate 6.1.4+dfsg1-1 virtuoso-opensource-6.1-common/sid uptodate 6.1.4+dfsg1-1 Since Debian is in some soft freeze package upgrades need to have some justification that is acceptable to the release team. I know that virtuoso 6.1.6 has been recommended. I hope sending mail just works now in all the cases again ;) That wasn´t it. It still happens, but I found out that when I kill some Nepomuk process I can have the mail sending process move forward. First I stopped and started Akonadi on the command line with the mail composer window still open. I pressed send, the button has been marked as clicked and then nothing, no CPU usage either. martin@merkaba:~> ps aux | grep nepomuk martin 1103 0.0 0.2 376128 21004 ? The letter is gone when I send KMail a SIGTERM to which unlike my previous impression it seems to respond after a while. But when address completion works for others they might not be affected. Cause who copies the address when completion works? -- Martin 'Helios' Steigerwald - http://www.Lichtvoll.de GPG: 03B0 0D6C 0040 0710 4AFA B82F 991B EAAC A599 84C7 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-kde-REQUESTLAlaLAlists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
