For some time now kio_http_cache_cleaner has been making me mad by generating huge io in the background running on the least favorable ioniceness (should I say iobadness) regardless of other heavy io jobs, or the laptop being on batteries.
iotop gives me the following: Total DISK READ: 656.84 K/s | Total DISK WRITE: 0.00 B/s TID PRIO USER DISK READ DISK WRITE SWAPIN IO> COMMAND 16484 be/4 christop 656.84 K/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 98.51 % kio_http_cache_cleaner 1 be/4 root 0.00 B/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 0.00 % init [2] 2 be/3 root 0.00 B/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 0.00 % [kthreadd] 3 rt/3 root 0.00 B/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 0.00 % [migration/0] 4 be/3 root 0.00 B/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 0.00 % [ksoftirqd/0] My cache size is 51200 (I guess KB) which should be KDE's default. Do others experience the same problem? Any hints on what to do about it? "killall kio_http_cache_cleaner" is my little friend and helper right now. I can't see any artifacts from not running the process every once and a while, so I guess there is no need for my hard-drive being bogged down that often. -Christoph -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-kde-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
