Great to hear that this transition is finally being made. I realize that they're unsupported, it is anticipated that it will be possible to upgrade directly from the debian-desktop.org backported packages, or would it be better to uninstall those before installing the official packages? Is kaboom triggered by the presence of a .kde4 directory or by already installed kde4 packages?
