Oops, I may have sent this same mail [earlier] to the wrong email address :-(
For the pass few days, unable to install KDE4 after following the instructions on your website (http://pkg-kde.alioth.debian.org/experimental.html) . Had confirmed that the repository is correct ### Error Output : apt-get -t experimental install kdebase-workspace kdebase kdm Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done kdm is already the newest version. Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. The following information may help to resolve the situation: The following packages have unmet dependencies: kdebase: Depends: kdebase-bin (>= 4:4.0.0-1) but 4:3.5.8.dfsg.1-6 is to be installed Depends: kdebase-data (>= 4:4.0.0-1) but 4:3.5.8.dfsg.1-6 is to be installed Depends: konqueror (>= 4:4.0.0-1) but it is not going to be installed kdebase-workspace: Depends: kdebase-workspace-bin (>= 4:4.0.0-2) but it is not going to be installed Depends: kdebase-workspace-data (>= 4:4.0.0-2) but it is not going to be installed Depends: ksysguard (>= 4:4.0.0-2) but 4:3.5.8.dfsg.1-6 is to be installed ### 1. Any idea what is missing in my installation or a bug? 2. I am installing KDE4 over KDE3. If KDE4 cannot be installed KDE3 (which I think should be able to), what is the simplest failproof command to remove all of KDE3? Thanks in advance for the info.
