This sounds like an Xorg problem. This is off topic here, since it belongs
to Xorg and not to KDE. You should look for the debian-x user ML and post
there the problem, and you Xorg.log.0.old which should have some info about
the problem. Also the versions you are using for all the xorg packages you
have installed.
