To get rid of the arts crash, you can remove the line KDE_ENABLE_HIDDEN_VISIBILITY in konstruct/libs/arts/work/arts-1.5.0/configure.in.in! Then you can just run 'make -f Makefile.cvs' in the arts directory and then reconfigure and rebuild arts.
