Actually I did page through the file.  But I'm answering from work, I'll 
look at it again.  I do remember that hpoj had been taken off the 
conflicts line.  I didn't think to look elsewhere in the file.  Did I miss 
checking another line?  The rest of the file looked okay.

        Oh well, at least I DID get the package installed w/o losing the 
other package.  I guess I can learn to use the aptitude interactive form 
or got back to apt-get if aptitude misbehaves too badly.
