Kopete Issues with MSN

Recently, around May 18, microsoft modified their protocol which broke the MSN protocol in Kopete. I have seen some traffic on the kopete-devel mailing list about this issue. See:

The kde bug that has been associated with this issue is:

The KDE Team has resolved the problem in svn and backported the fix to KDE 3.3 (and may also backport to 3.2).

Any idea when or if this update will make it into testing/Sarge?
