Hi folks, if you experience crashing Linux on logout from KDE 3.3 like me then do the following: in the sound server settings disable its running with the realtime priority. If this does not help turn the sound server completely off.
Control Center -> Sounds and Multimedia -> Sound System see the bug http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88401
