Sorry, my previous message was probably too much emotional given my (lack of) knoweldge about CS matters (I am not a programmer by any stretch of imagination), but when I see debian/rules which consists mainly from DO_NOT_COMPILE variables, two sets of patches (one in debian/patches, other in debian/local), lots of commenting out, etc., I do not expect good things to come. After spending a month making minor upgrade (from 3.2.0 to 3.2.2) using just semiofficial packages from downloads.kde.org, it will take some time before I will be upgrading to sarge.
