# apt-cache show libc6 Package: libc6 [...] Conflicts: strace (<< 4.0-0), libnss-db (<= 2.2-6.1.1), timezone, timezones, gconv-modules, libtricks, libc6-doc, libc5 (<< 5.4.33-7), libpthread0 (<< 0.7-10), libc6-bin, libwcsmbs, apt (<< 0.3.0), libglib1.2 (<< 1.2.1-2), netkit-rpc, wine (<< 0.0.20021007-1), php4 (<< 4:4.2.3-5), file-rc (<< 0.7.0) ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ [...] php4_4.1.2-4 is in testing but php4_4.2.3-5 is needed for libc6_2.3.1. php4_4.2.3-11 is in unstable, so you can take this one. This is somewhat explained in the announcement: http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2003/debian-devel-announce-200303/msg00006.html Or simply wait until the newer php4 drops down or a fixed libc6 packages drops down... Other issues might still be present but not on my desktop oriented installation. I did not dare to upgrade a server that's also based on testing (yes, woody is too old for that one). Maybe on Monday ;) Actually, I had to do an "apt-get -f install" during upgrade but it resolved without any further work on this. Personally, I do not have php4 installed.
