Install the debian fontconfig package - or if you already have it installed try running fc-cache. If you still have problems - check what your /etc/fonts/fonts.conf file is doing with Helvetica - it sounds as though fontconfig is matching the family "Helvetica" to something else. This could be for a number of reasons - the most likely being that the Helvetica font is not being picked up from where ever it is installed (/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts subdir). - -- Alan Chandler [EMAIL PROTECTED] -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.1 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE+abHbuFHxcV2FFoIRAibtAJ0QkvyvW63RyvprEuRVxP+teR3eQACfWbm9 c8T7GDF2NVbE8dRwhiwIsJU= =YIkC -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
