        For the future, may I recommend that you first search the archive? This 
question has come up several times in the last two-three weeks, and 
inevitably the answer boils down to:
1. Check to make sure that the users belong in group audio.
2. Check to make sure that the permission on /dev/dsp has read-write access 
for group audio.

99.9% of the time, this will solve your problem.
