somethings wrong with the dependecies in testing/unstable. I had the problem that artsd kcontrol would not start with an error message that gave no clue. I just installed kdebase-audiolibs to get the audiocd-I/O-Slave and now this functions again and artsd, too :-))) So you probably should mentioned this package in the Depends: field of the package arts !
