looks like problem with pam auth.
my /etc/pam.d/kde looks like this (on sid):
#%PAM-1.0
auth required pam_unix.so shadow nullok
auth required pam_nologin.so
auth required pam_env.so
account required pam_unix.so
session required pam_unix.so
password required pam_unix.so nullok obscure min=4 max=8 md5
and yours?
