  I totally agree as this would indeed be a pain ....

  However, it's a quick fix for pages
  that you might need printed in a hurry ....

  I was hoping someone might suggest a central point
  somewhere in the KDE configs that would be amenable
  to accepting the CSS required to change the print
  attributes ....

  When using  man:xyzzy  in Konqueror and viewing the source
  of the page rendered, I found a KDE default CSS file
  that could be edited if desired at ....

     /usr/share/doc/kde/HTML//en/common/kde-default.css
