-1. Hello all! I've only posted to the list a couple of times but do enjoy reading it. The above discussion was obviously fairly harmless but I've seen a technical mailman list descend into anarchy before when a similar issue was discussed publicly. While privately emailing the list leader may have seemed excessive, a message to the whole list can be a lot worse. Since this issue was just querying a joke, probably the best response would have been for people to email Markus directly? Either party can later talk to the list or leader if they want.
