The F-Droid community are actively trying to remove the JARs that many app developers keep in their repositories I suggested that some collaboration with debian-java may be more efficient than F-Droid creating their own solution from scratch. Things like the Debian Maven helper and the availability of the free Debianized Maven toolchain for building many Maven projects may be particularly helpful here.
