I am the author and maintainer of the Java D-Bus implementation and
intend to become a DD (I am waiting to get a few more packages sponsored
in before applying to NM, also waiting for someone who knows me to have
time to advocate me). For the moment, therefore, I am looking for
someone to sponsor the dbus-java package. An earlier version has been
kindly uploaded by Sjoerd Simons, one of the pkg-utopia team; however,
the new version requires another Java package which it depends on and he
would rather not take responsibility for that as he doesn't know much
about Java.
So, I'm looking for a sponsor for at least one package, Sjoerd is happy
for someone else to upload the main dbus-java package as well.
The packages can be found at
http://mjj29.matthew.ath.cx/debian-upload/dbus-java/ for the latest
dbus-java (the 2.1 packages) and
http://mjj29.matthew.ath.cx/debian-upload/libmatthew-java/ for the
library it depends on. The orig.tar.gz files are copied verbatim from
the upstream websites given in the copyright files.
Any comments on the packaging are also well received. Currently the
dbus-java packaging is stored in the pkg-utopia svn and the other one is
in my private git repository.
