Please read the Java policy and the information on http://pkg-java.alioth.debian.org/ You should not build-depend on a virtual package, but rather select one of the available environments (preferably java-gcj-compat-dev if it works for you). This guarantees consistent build results. (In contrast, the resulting packages should depend on virtual packages for the Java environment, so that they run with whatever the user has installed.)
