No, it seems to me that it's the ecj-bootstrap dependency that should be replaced by java2-compiler, and ecj-bootstrap should then "Provides: java2-compiler". But I'm not sure if this is correct either. Rather the ecj-bootstrap mess should be sorted out - a "bootstrap" package should be used for bootstrapping only.
