Hi Barry,

For SableVM PowerPC is one of the two main development platforms, so it
surely works on PPC at least as well as on x86 ;-)

On Debian front - the version currently in unstable is the same as in
testing and the package is in a very good shape (AFAICS).

You may also want to 'apt-get install free-java-sdk' which contains an
almost complete SDK-like environment composed only of free tools.
