I'd recommend JBoss, too. You can set it up easily (but non-Debian) by unpacking the sources and running build/build.sh, some minutes later you'll find the compiled JBoss in build/output/jboss-x.y.z, which you can move elsewhere if you like. Start the server, copy your beans into jboss-x.y.z/server/default/deploy to deploy, and watch the error messages on screen or in jboss-x.y.z/server/default/log/server.log (they can be somewhat cryptic). > I did download the files from Sun for the j2ee (j2sdkee-1_3_1-linux.tar.gz).
