Hello, My mozilla (latest from sid) does not accept the java plugin shipped with blackdown java. First I tried j2re1.3, now 1.4 - beta (the debian packages by blackdown.org, from one of their mirrors).
This page in the BTS mentions a similar (the same?) problem: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=184666 According to the mozilla plugin doc website, blackdown java is compiled using gcc-3.2, as is mozilla. Normally, mozilla starts without error message, but there is no java plugin on the about:plugin page. The flashplayer plugin works, and the mozilla version is generally _very_ stable (no crashes at all). When starting mozilla from the application crash dialog of a GNOME app started from the terminal without "&", I see this message: LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library /usr/lib/j2se/1.4/jre/plugin/i386/mozilla/javaplugin_oji.so [/usr/lib/j2se/1.4/jre/plugin/i386/mozilla/javaplugin_oji.so: undefined symbol: GetGlobalServiceManager__16nsServiceManagerPP17nsIServiceManager] LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library /usr/lib/j2se/1.4/jre/plugin/i386/mozilla/javaplugin_oji.so [/usr/lib/j2se/1.4/jre/plugin/i386/mozilla/javaplugin_oji.so: undefined symbol: GetGlobalServiceManager__16nsServiceManagerPP17nsIServiceManager] Has anybody an idea? I hope this is the right place to ask. If not, please tell me so. Before I posted, I had a look at all documentation of the relevant packages in /usr/share/doc, at the Debian BTS, at some Debian mailing lists, and the mozilla plugin doc website.
