Read its license - it can't be redistributed by Debian, you have to download and install it yourself. In that sense it is_ available for Debian, but not from Debian (and not as a Debian package, though you can download the Blackdown JDK - www.blackdown.org - as a Debian deb). > Why is there an extra package with the jdk since you could use the standard > JDK??
