i would try out eclipse and i find out that it doesn't run with j2sdk1.4 from Blackdown (run only with workaround). So i get a new version j2sdk-1.4.2-rc1 from blackdown and build deb package with mpkg-j2sdk. How can i get now eclipse and other apps to use the new version instead of the old, without modifying the PATH variable? I was not able to find which package or app has create links from /usr/bin to /etc/alternatives and then to /usr/lib/j2se/1.4/bin/ . How can i get both versions running parallel?
