i use statcvs 20030713-2 (unstable apparently),
i get the following error while trying to run statcvs

system setup: debian kernel stable, cvs testing (1,12), statcvs unstable, no apache, no webserver, no java (but kaffe).

unfortunately, kaffe 1.1.1 (in debian) isn't able to run statcvs yet. kaffe 1.1.2 gets a little bit further, AFAIK, but fails due to a missing java2d implemenation. I plan to merge in Agile2D into kaffe, which provides a Java2D over OpenGL implementation, and that should allow it to run StatCVS, among other programs using Java2D. So hopefully, the upcoming kaffe 1.1.3 will be able to run it. Helpers for hacking on kaffe are always welcome ;)
