bene adesso a localhost ci arrivi, ma la porta telnet e` chiusa. Controlla quello che ti hanno gia` suggerito per vedere se la porta telnet ascolta nel modo che ti hanno suggerito o con un netstat -anp|grep :23 e poi (una volta che il demone telnet ascolta, ma visto che hai detto che telnetd e` installato dovrebbe farlo in teoria, se no controlla che inetd parta: /etc/init.d/inetd restart) controlla pure che in /etc/hosts.allow ci sia qualcosa del tipo ALL: localhost e in hosts.deny POTREBBE essere buona cosa mettere ALL: ALL PS: io comunque userei telnet-ssl e telnetd-ssl
