Penso dipenda dal fatto che l'ip che hai assegnato appartiene ad una
rete diversa!
Se il tuo modem ha effetivamente indirizzo ip 10.0.0.2 potresti provare
ad assegnare alla tua scheda di rete 10.0.0.1, 10.0.0.3, o indirizzi
simili.
Se hai fortuna sul tuo modem gira un server dhcp quindi ti basta
aggiungere al tuo interfaces la seguente riga:
iface eth0 inet dhcp
in modo che la scheda di rete ottienga l'ip automaticamente.
