It would be really cool if there was some kind of app that would run on a console, and would show a summary of most types of stats a real sysadmin would be interested in (eg. total system loading, total network bandwidth being used), and things like that. It would definately not be very detailed (you want that, go get BB or Netsaint), but at a glance a person could see the general health of the system and network.
Actually, on a similar note, does anyone know of an app that, again, runs on the console, and can show bandwidth related stats? I know all about iptraf and ntop... but is there something that can run totally automated, and is secure enough to be run on a multi-user box? (ntop has had it's share of security problems before... not sure bout iptraf). Any ideas would be appreciated!
