Hi, There is a known problem with the current stable php4 package when using mail() with an external mail server (mail server is not on the same machine as the webserver).
Nothing happens, no errors, no mail sent, nothing. I saw a bug posted to b.d.o, but something tells me this is going to take a long time to fix (couple bugs above it are outstanding in excess of 3 years).
